Michigan Team Has DB Ties
SALINE, MICHIGAN OCTOBER 24,
2004
This fall marks the 40th anniversary of
Michigan's 1964 Big Ten and Rose Bowl Championship team.
Coached by Bump Elliot, M outscored their opponents 235-83,
and only suffered a single loss: a one point loss to Purdue.
The squad capped off the year with a 34-7 thumping on Oregon
State in the Rose Bowl.

Did you know that two of the team members have
close ties to the DB tailgate? That's right. Team
Captain Jim Conley is the godfather of chicken-wing-eating,
Coors-slamming legend and G Dooley fraternity brother Timmy
Adams. Tim's Uncle Jim stills lives in the area, and TA
often stays at his house when he's in town. That's Timmy
pictured right at the Michigan State game wearing his vintage
#82 Conley throwback jersey, alongside his godfather.
Dr. Barry Dehlin is another 1964 Rose Bowl
champion, and a close family friend of the Dooleys. He's
attended several DB tailgates, and resides in the Lansing
area. Will we see Doc on Saturday?
The 1964 team was recognized on the field
earlier this year during the Iowa game.
