2005 JDRF Classic a Hit
Golf event raises big bucks for Juvenile Diabetes research
FRANKLIN HILLS CC, JUNE 13,
2005
The Detroit chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundation held its annual Golf Classic at Franklin Hills Country
Club amid warm weather and mostly clear skies. A brief shower
merely refreshed the combatants as they attack the course in a
scramble format. Eleven under par won the event, which was
sponsored by Tri-State Centurion.
The JDRF raised over $120,000 at the event, which
included a silent auction and a $1 million shot. Kudos to Ron
Dooley, who not only lined up Tri-State as the sponsor, but also
worked on the committee for the event, and did an excellent job as
MC.
