Go to Work all Night, Sleep all Day

 Mr. Big Shot, Rip, and crew party all night then take Game 7

 SALINE, MI  JUNE 6, 2005

During the pre-game radio shows, some of the talk was focused on the fact that 5 of the key Pistons: (including Rip "yes sir" Hamilton, Chauncey Billups, and Tayshaun Prince) were out until 4 a.m. in the morning in South Beach the hours before Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.  They were having a few drinks, enjoying the sights, etc., and even got in a minor car accident.

Hearing this, I was pretty upset.  How could these guys jeopardize the season by hanging out all night?

As usual, these Pistons had everything under control.  Billups lived up to his nickname "Mr. Big Shot", as he calmly netted 4 free throws with under a minute to go.  The game wasn't even in hand as he stepped up to shoot the last of these when something struck Big Shot as funny.  He busted out laughing at lord knows what, then sunk the fourth one and put the game out of reach.  Maybe coach Brown told him to towel off all the lingering whiskey sweat before sealing the game.  Well done, Mr. Big Shot.
