Long Awaited: Seinfeld Finally Releases DVD
Collection
Jerry, George, Elaine, Kramer and friends rock the new video series
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
NOVEMBER 12, 2004
It's here. The Jerry
Seinfeld - Larry David produced 'Seinfeld' series is finally
available on DVD. But there are actually two versions of
the DVD set available, both on November 23, 2004. Here's
a little bit a information on each of the new DVDs to be
released, along with projected pricing information from
Amazon.com: |

Seinfeld Gift Pack
Seasons 1-3 (Order
@ Amazon.com)
OK, so
some marketing major looked at the Seinfeld DVD boxed set and
made a recommendation. This is the Seinfeld 'gift' pack
where you get a set of playing cards, salt and the 'Monks
diner' pepper shakers and an original copy of an early script.
(total price at Amazon $77.97) You could save a few bucks by
buying Seasons 1-2, and 3 separately, but you wouldn't get the
gifts. Tough call. Here's a complete list of the
episodes:
-
Good
News Bad News (pilot), The Stakeout, The Robbery, Male
Unbonding, The Stock Tip, The Ex-Girlfriend, The Pony
Remark, The Jacket, The Phone Message, The Apartment, The
Statue, The Revenge, The Heart Attack, The Deal, The Baby
Shower, The Chinese Restaurant, The Busboy, The Note, The
Truth, The Pen, The Dog, The Library, The Parking Garage,
The Cafe, The Tape, The Nose Job, The Stranded, The
Alternate Side, The Red Dot, The Subway, The Pez Dispenser,
The Suicide, The Fix-Up, The Boyfriend (1), The Boyfriend
(2), The Limo, The Good Samaritan, The Letter, The Parking
Space, The Keys
This set
was released November 23, 2004.
Order now and Amazon.com will give you free
shipping.
My guess is
that the biggest Seinfeld fans will buy this item.
Those that can wait will buy Seasons 1&2 and wait for the
'lighter' version to come out with the new seasons (3+).

Seinfeld Seasons 1 & 2
(pre-order
@ Amazon.com)
The first
version probably provides the most value, although it contains
just the first two seasons. The price is great compared
with other DVDs (Amazon.com lists at just $32.47), and you get
all 18 original episodes including the pilot on the 4
DVDs. This will be released November 23, 2004.
On top of that, you get a bunch on deleted scenes and many other
extra features including:
- Bloopers
and outtakes.
- Remember
when they used to open each Seinfeld segment (and close the
show) with Jerry on stage doing his act? This DVD has all
the material they didn't use in the show.
- Ads and
Trailers (like they needed any)
- A hour
long documentary featuring how Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld
came up with the concept for Sienfeld (and how it almost didn't
happen).
FYI - you
also can order
Season 3 separately. It's available for $32.47 and
also ships on November 23rd. As Amazon.com has done
lately, anything over $25 ships free.
