Lew and Kathryn Tie the Knot

Mile High City will never be the same

DENVER CO, The mile high city was the venue as friends and family of Lewey Popoff and Kathryn McCarthy were on site to witnesses their wedding.  It was a cool ceremony - a traditional Greek Orthodox service.

Nothing seems to be easy anymore, and the weekend got off to a slow start as a storm cancelled my Friday flight out to Denver.  We managed to get the first flight out on Saturday, although we had to take center seats.

I was waiting in my seat when I saw the T-shirt.  It read "I'm a Bruiser Buddy" and I know of only of few men on whom this shirt would fit (Mark McGwire, maybe Shaq).  The other guy that the shirt fit was wearing it, and he strolled down the airplane aisle and sat next to me. He was huge - not so tall necessarily, but very wide.  His left arm jetted out half way into my seat.  For the 3+ hour flight to Denver I was forced to sit leaning as far as I could to the edge of my seat to give the big fella his space.  Only when I could move the seat back did I get some relief.

After a little while I spoke to the man.  It turns out he is a professional wrestler.  He goes by Dick The Bruiser Jr., and was on his way to a match.  He was really a nice guy.  As he left the plane, I wished him good luck and told him to "be careful".  He came back with  "you should be careful - you're the one getting married."  Bullseye.

Needless to say, Lew's wedding was incredible and a great time, not unlike his bachelor party.  It was great seeing their families and friends. One of the highlights of the reception was Lew and Kathryn leading everyone in various Greek dances (click here for a shot of Lew cutting some serious Greek rug).  Good luck guys!  Thanks to Mike DeFrain for the digital pictures.
