Pathfinder goes over 100,000 miles

Can still get a man from point A to point B

ANN ARBOR, MI  April 12, 2001.   Today, the 1995 Nissan Pathfinder rolled over 100,000 miles.  I was approximately 10 miles into my morning drive on M-14 near Curtis road.  As tradition dictates, I laid on the horn big time in celebration of the accomplishment.

Highlights of the first 100K miles:

- Purchased with 40K miles in 1998

- Pimped around DC during snowstorm of '99 that closed the town down

Lowlights:

- Just a week after being purchased in 1998, we take the Pathfinder up to Canada.  The Canadian border agents decide to search the truck, unloading and go through every item we packed.  Three hours later the Aficionado's depart with a hefty fine, a permanent listing in the Canadian database, and very bitter.

- Brushed against telephone pole backing out of parking lot after breakfast in 2000

- Pulled over for having 1 working headlight last month

- Driving home from DC during snowstorm in early 2000, back window props open exposing all of my recently dry cleaned shirts and suits to the elements and salt on the Ohio Turnpike
