Lions drop to 0-10 despite wild comeback effort

Rutgers grads represent

OKEMOS, MI  NOV. 23, 2001

"They should rename the Lions the Christians", quipped Ron Dooley, Sr. after watching the Lions fall to 0-10 on Thanksgiving.  They are making it close but they continue to break the hearts of Detroit fans.

The one bright spot was rookie quarterback Mike McMahon, who almost brought the Lions back from nowheresville.  We'll have to see what kind of role he plays for the rest of the season - hopefully he can add some life to this team and make the rest of the schedule bearable.  You can read about another Lions loss by clicking here.

McMahon hails from Rutgers University in New Jersey, which happens to be where Mr. Dooley was graduated and where the webmaster's cousin, Jessica Bodholt, is a student and a standout on their women's varsity soccer team.  Click here for a nice pic of Jess bringing the ball up the field for the Scarlet Knights.  I still have no idea what a 'rutger' is.
