Dutch turns Bitter over the Buckles

Vegas Style theories challenged and recapped

YUMA, AZ  NOV. 30, 2001

My Nerves.  Prompted by Lew Popoff's simple query of "Who is Sneaky?", Jeff Jackson unleashed a memorable take on Las Vegas style, and in particular, square/toed buckled shoes (e.g. see above).

Mr. Jackson, oft-referred to as Frank or Dutch, addressed Lew's initial query by identifying "Sneaky" as an old pal from school.  He didn't stop there, however.  Since we practice free speech in the US of A, I am proud to publish this epic take from Frank. Because if I didn't print it, well, I guess the terrorists win:

Lewis:

Sneaky is a good-egg feller from MN that I did undergrad with. He attended [a Vegas trip] a few years back with Awes and Geegs, all (except) Frank showed up at Flamingo wearing squared toed shoes with buckles. Since, they are standard issue for style in Vegas.

Flaw theory though. About 10 years ago, K's and Geegs broke me balls when I was wearing a pair o' loafers with buckles. As apparently at Okemos High, some non-feller wore shoes with buckles, and they started the canter "buckles are for belts".

Well, I still to this day own loafers with buckles. As do Geegs, Flawes, and K's. However, I have not adopted the initiation of the square toe theory. Just an FYI for the next trip to Vegas. Like at the Rose Bowl when you checked off with Greek before going out to RAP, and after donning your heavy corduroy slacks, "Greek, do you think I'll get by with these?".

Dude, it would be most epic if you showed up in Vegas, off the plane, with Frank's curbside courier service, in the same trousers, with square toed/buckle shoes.
