Beaver Bash 2003

BEAVER ISLAND, MICHIGAN   AUGUST 24, 2003

Another classic trip up to Beaver Island concluded today for Greg and Jessica Dooley, and hosts Kathy and Kelley Kuehne.  Both groups drove up to Charlevoix on Thursday and took the fifteen minute flight aboard Island Airways twin proppy over to the Island.

On Thursday evening the crew enjoyed a few drinks and snacks, and decided to break-out a game of Left, Right, Middle with Kay's snappy new dice.  Kathy held the hot hand all night, consistently closing out the game with some clutch rolls.  Jess and Kays were shut out all evening.

On Friday the group awoke to a perfect day, enjoyed a nice breakfast (eggs au Kays, turkey bacon, bagel) and headed down to Iron Ore Bay for a little R&R.  After a few hours of sun and fun, the crew headed the the famous Shamrock Restaurant and Bar  for some lunch and a stop at McDonough's Market to reload on rations.  That evening, DJ G broke out some fresh beats during happy hour and Kays threw some thick steaks on the grill.  An after dinner party broke out, with more tunes, dice, and laughs then one could imagine.

Saturday was a day to hit the Kuehne's beach.  One of the discussion topics was the a name for Beaver Island cottage.  A few bantered around:

- Kuehne's Cove

- Kuehne's Creek

- Kuehne's Last Stand

- Rancho Relax-o

Lunch was had at the cottage and the crew decided to head over to the Shamrock for dinner.  The group took a decidedly milder tone in the evening, but not without a few laughs, drinks and gags.

Sunday the group woke to an epic breakfast, a little clean-up and a trip to the airport for the flight back.   For more on previous Beaver Bashes, you can go here:
