Opening Day 2002: Tigers fall to Tribe

Unfortunately the Detroit Tigers still bite

DETROIT, MI APRIL 5, 2002

The church right outside Detroit's Comerica Park had a sign that read "Pray for the Tigers Here".  It did not help.  The Cleveland Indians sent Mark Redman's first pitch of the game into the right field bullpen and never looked back.  A capacity crowd braved the bitter (bone chilling) cold and witnessed the onslaught.

The main highlight?  Having the pleasure of seeing Ernie Harwell walk into the stadium to call his last Opening Day ever.

With an 0-4 record, it begs the question, are the Detroit Tigers worst team in the league?  Ever?  Will they win anytime in the near future with these players/manager/front office?
