Visit to LazyBones North

Golf, cards, and dune grass

ONEKAMA, MICHIGAN  SUNDAY APRIL 28, 2002

We visited the construction site of our cottage (named Lazy Bones North, this weekend.  The lot sets on the sand off the shore of Lake Michigan, just north of Portage Lake.  The house is expected to be completed sometime near the end of 2002.

In order to keep the integrity of the sand dunes near the house, it is recommended that dune grass be planted into the dune.  On Saturday we spent about three hours covering 500 square feet in grass.  Afterwards Ron, Dad and I hit The Heathlands golf course and played some winter golf in temperatures near freezing.  Despite the cold, the many layers of clothes and the wind, we all scored pretty well.
