Johanna and Robert: Engaged at long last! 

 The Streak is over - the King is dead - Robert bows to the pressure

CHICAGO, IL JUNE 27, 2002

 It couldn't last forever and it didn't.  Robert Pelon and Johanna Ruppert are officially engaged.  Robert dropped the bomb during a peaceful afternoon bike ride just outside the Windy City.  

In somewhat related news, right now there is a large 400 lb. gorilla roaming Cook county.  The ape has been perched atop Robert's back for about 5 years now, gradually feasting on the fruit of each successive engagement & marriage of Johanna's good friends.   Enjoy it Robert, because soon you will carry a larger, more ferocious monkey as your wedding approaches.

Speaking of the wedding, I'm not sure if any plans are made but I'll bet that the best man will have a good speech prepared.  Knowing Robert, we might be looking at 2005 for the big day.  In all seriousness, congratulations to you both and best of luck until the wedding!
